so does using a virtual machine get past the issues of 10.5.6 and DFU?

i have the 2.4ghz unibody MBP, and will using my bootcamp partition in vmware fusion let me use quickpwn to unlock the iphone? I know 10.5.6 has problems with DFU mode, and I do NOT have a USB HUB to get past the issue, nor do I want to screw with the kext file.

IS it better to use bootcamp or vmware, or does it not matter? its XP btw. Thanks for the help!
