I have the "official" Mophie charger from Apple and even after they enabled the FAST CHARGE nonsense it is anticlimactic....

TBH i guess I was expecting too much along the lines of a samsung style fast charge but even at 7.5 W its no faster than the normal..

SMFh...

Unless anyone has tips or am I missing the whole "FAST CHARGE" nonsense?

I believe you are 100% correct.
Have the Mophie and it charges no faster now than it did before the 11.2 update.

Maybe Apple should call it "Faster Charge." I will say that my 12.9" iPad Pro charges extremely fast with the 29w adaptor. The iPhone X has been hit and miss.

It’s still fast charge just not going to compare to normal wired

Overall though it’s not a big deal. Wireless charging is ideal for when you go to bed or keep it there when on the desk at work

If you want truly fast charge you use the faster cable

I've experienced fast charging on a Note 8 and it is *extremely* convenient. I've come to realize as I've used wireless and wired charging on the iPhone that Apple really hasn't implemented true "fast charging". This is kinda like when AT&T launched an enhanced 3G standard and called it "4G" (because they were running behind at implementing LTE) -- much to the amusement of Verizon who had LTE at the time in some markets.

You don't know what you're missing but when Apple finally gets around to doing it right you'll be amazed.

That being said, I do like my iPhone X overall so don't hate. I could pick and choose attributes of the Note 8 that aren't nearly as good as those features are on the iPhone.

My battery life on the X is so amazing that it’s never needed daytime charging. So what my Mophie does overnight doesn’t matter to me. It may be 35% faster but I wouldn’t know.

We are enjoying our Mophie wireless charger so far. Its convenient to just drop the phone onto the charger. It could be faster I suppose but we haven't needed it to be fair... If I need faster charging I will just use my iPad charger.

this. i have the belkin and charge overnight, so it doesnt matter.

but i do wonder if its degrading my battery faster than at 5W.

The faster wireless charging isn’t much of a difference, but the fast wired charge with the 29W USB-C is a huge improvement over the 5W included adapter.

I have the Mophie charger and I noticed immediately after the 11.2 update that the phone got hotter when charging, and it definitely seemed to charge faster though I haven’t got any objective data.

This for me too. If I have had too heavy usage during the day and need a bit more battery I’ll just fast charge (wired). In that 30 mins I get 50% is enough to last me the rest of the day. I wouldn’t rely on wireless for mid-day charging quite yet with its given speed. I wireless charge overnight, it wouldn’t matter how fast it charges as long as it’s charged within the 6-8 hours before I wake up.

Are we conflating terms?

I was under the impression that the "Fast Charging" term applies only to charging via Lightning with a stronger power supply than the included 5w. In contrast to that the 7.5w wireless charging is supposed to be "faster" than the 5w.

Does anyone have a link from Apple that breaks down their terminology?
