I hadn't done one yet knowing my watch wasn't coming until June, I didn't want to get too excited. I started to doubt which bands I wanted and also, seeing these threads showing the 38mm SS were shipping so fast I started to debate going for a 38mm to get one faster. I have ordered a SS w/ black sport band on the 24th, June delivery.
I decided to go to my Apple store today and just do a try on right after they opened. I explained that I wasn't sure about 38 vs. 42 and she said lets try everything. I got to try on ALL stainless models. Started with a 38 milanese and couldn't even get it past my hand. Immediately ruled out the 38mm version for me. Then tried the ML in 42, loved that. Then the Leather loop, this one wasn't even on my radar but after trying it I really liked the feel. Then she had me try the link. Damn. Thats the one for me. I am going to keep my pre-order for BSB as I will use it for exercising but I am placing a order for the SS Link band right now as well.
So glad I tried it on. The lady was very helpful and went on to tell me how excited she was to get hers. She has a June window as well. I asked her if they really thought it would take until June and she basically said that all the employees at this store had ordered one and most had June quotes. One had already had theirs ship, but they are obviously as clueless as we are. I will stay the course and wait for mine to come as I know I will be happy.
TL;DR: If you haven't tried one on and are debating size or bands, go get yourself into the store to do so if you can. Its totally worth it and quite a fun experience.
