The thread the OP pointed out seems to be for the touch when connected to WiFi. As it stands I am not getting any push on my iPhone when connected to EDGE or 3G :(

Would be amazing if Gmail rolled it out though....

I'm having Gmail pushed by forwarding it to my .mac account. And I saw another thread about a Gmail push work-around.

But no, there's no automatic Gmail push.

Gmail is pushing for me right now over EDGE!

Here are my settings:

Settings>Push>On
Fetch>1 Hour
Gmail Account>Fetch

Also, in Gmail settings on the web, I am having my mail forwarded to another email address. Even though I am NOT USING that email, it seems that when I have this option turned on, it pushes to my iPhone for some reason. When I turn off forwarding, it doesn't work anymore.

Give it a try!

Edit: Wait, I turned off forwarding and it still pushes... weird.

it seems to work for gmail, but not google apps email, and sporadically at that.

Works for me only on wifi. I get it in about 30 secs of the sender sending it. On EGDE it takes about 8 minutes (could have been fetched automatically though, so not sure). Either way, an 8 minute Push isn't exactly true Push.
