So hard to Erase the Old Computer

I just transferred all my data from my old (24",2008) to my new late 2012 27" iMac. I keep putting off erasing the information on my old computer. Anyone else suffered from apprehension before erasing the information on your old computer?
I know it does not make sense but I am just a little hesitant.

I wait until all of the data on my new computer is double backed up. At that time... I feel safe.

I also have a new 2012 iMac and the TM backup is complete. I use Crashplan+ for offsite backup, and I am using their seed service. The seed drive is scheduled to arrive tomorrow.
