Just like you would burn any file to DVD? Why not use a USB flash memory thumb drive or the network?

I purchased Motion and could easily copy it to an external HDD.

Don't I have to copy the .dmg file so that I can instal it on other computers?

There is no DMG file to copy, just the app. A DMG file is just a mountable disk image, not some kind of installer. It is more like a .zip file (though I don't really like that comparison).
Do any of the other Macs have 10.6.7 on them? Can't you just try to copy FCP X to the other Macs?
