I'm at the point where I cant store all of my photos on my iPhone anymore, so I started looking for another solution. iCloud Photo Library seemed good, so I updated my iPhone's operating system (to 8.3 - this thing is a 4s) and flipped the iCloud Photo Library switch.

There's no progress indicator of any sort. All it says is 1806 remaining items or something like that, and it doesnt seem to change.

Edit: Okay, now it says "preparing 3 items," which it has said for the past 15 minutes.

Edit2: Oh, and the storage tab thing says "19.9 GB Available" but when I click on it for details, it says 3.9 GB available. Doesnt seem like a good sign.

Edit3: Left it plugged in overnight, and while it seems to have taken care of some things, nothing really adds up still.

My photos take up about 8GB. When I go to settings --> iCloud, it says there are 12.8 GB available (out of 20 total). This makes a fair amount of sense, but when I click on it for more information, it says total storage: 0 bytes, and available: 802 MB. When I click on "manage storage" it says photos in iCloud take up 7.2 GB. Well at least that makes sense.

However, last night, before anything was uploaded to iCloud, I had about 800 MB of free space on my phone. Now I have 1.5 GB. So... how do I math all of this correctly?
