From the look of things, I doubt anyone is getting an iPhone 4 through FedEx today who originally had a June 24th before the Apple e-mail.

So, how/why did some get it even earlier?

This isn't another complaining thread.
Lets discuss whats going on.

i assume once apple lifted the hold that they normally put our packages under, the people who had their packages already nearby just got lucky.

i think the reason behind the 23rd orders is to ease up the activation clusterfu*k

For normal product launches, Apple seems to ship the stuff early to FedEx, who then holds it until launch day. It's not like Apple magically times it so that FedEx gets it the morning of the launch, and then delivers it.

Apparently some FedEx facilities received some iPhones early enough to make it on delivery routes yesterday after Apple cleared them for early delivery.
