Just curious how many people actually came to the apple stores, AT&T or best buy stores. For those who waited... how many people were there?

stanford

I was at the stanford, ca (shopping center mall) store, there were about 20 pre-regs and 10 non pre-regs at 06:30 this am. It went fast, but i didn't walk out with a phone there.
:-(

This is what the queues were like at the O2 store in Oxford (UK). About 15 people or so...

got to ATT about 7am was first in line out in about 8 min .. there where like 4 people behind me

When I got the 3G, I camped out... nobody showed until around 6. Around 7 the line got long.

This time, I kinda impulse bought the 3GS... walked into the apple store around noon. No line whatsoever. Walked right to the back and picked up my (reserved) phone.

Much better than last year :p

Columbus OH:

I got in line about 5:45AM, the store opened at 7:00AM and I was in my car at 7:30AM. I was not a pre-order or pre-register, I was just a walk up.

The process was MUCH better this year than last year.

On a side note, I think there are lots of reasons the lines were smaller - not many new features, bad economy, more places to buy the phones and better organized pre-sales effort. Just my thoughts.

I got to Apple store at 8:15, there were 4 in front of me, I bought my 32GB and was out the door in about 20 minutes, including 8 minute wait time.

Very easy.
