AND I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THIS MIGHT HAVE HAPPENED??? is there any way to delete all my phonebook contacts in one swoop??

weird thing is, all the number and names in my contacts are gone, but when i look under my favorites tab, the numbers are still there, just not the names of the 10 or so people I have on there.

any idea what happened???

do you sync your contact with exchange, or providers such as gmail? if so was there anything done on that account?

If you had iCloud turned ON for contacts and then turned it OFF, that would have deleted all of your contacts

They would have asked you first. but sometimes we just say yes without reading.

If that's the case, turning iCloud back on will restore the contacts.
