So i had to reformat the pc which i had the backup of my iphone 4, couple questions

in order for me to back up my iphone again, should i download the old version of itunes (prior to itunes 10) or itunes 10 will be fine for backup?

Yep, iTunes 10 will work fine, just don't update if you don't want to.
