I have a feeling this should work. I have wireless internet from school, however I do not have the wireless router for my xbox. Is there a way I can link the macbook and xbox via ethernet cord and use the wireless connection that my notebook gets and transfer it to my xbox to play on live???

Thanks

THe ports for XBL might be blocked by your school! jusy an FYI if u have problems with it

Why would schools block Xbox Live?

Also you can turn on internet sharing, but I've never used it from wireless to wired.

To save bandwidth?

And most schools seem to have a 'better safe than sorry' policy, and lock down any non-essential ports (as opposed to leaving everything and closing ports as the need arises).

Just a guess though ...

The pp's link is very good. I do this ALL of the time taking my 360 to work and all. I have some notes to help me remember what to do:
On your computer:
-Turn Internet connection sharing on From Airport to En0
In Terminal type Ifconfig en0
This gives you your IP address for the computer add 1 to it and use it for the xbox ( you must configure the network on xbox manually)
Type dig in terminal to reveal your DNS servers.
These are my settings and are pretty standard they'll prob work.
XBOX:
IP 192.168.2.2
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.2.1
Manually enter in your DNS addresses.

If you have any problems when attempting to connect to live
Turn ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) off and back on on mac
