ok i will fall on my sword and be the idiot-

first off, is there an FAQ for the whole jailbreakme.com?

some dumb questions.

1. Once I JB, how do i get these cool sounding apps like SBS and the rest?
2. Once I JB, will my old apps work?
3. Once I JB, i assume i better not update any IOS software through itunes?
4. It seems like there are multiple JB types for multiple phone generations, but for the IP4 all there is is jailbreakme.com?
5. Is the consensus good or bad for this jaibreakme for IP4?

thanks

1) Search using Cydia - a program that will be downloaded automatically when you jailbreak.
2) Yes
3) Correct, but you can still sync
4) Far as I know
5) I think good

1. Search it up using Cydia, the jailbroken App Store.

2. Yes. You can also purchase normal apps through the App Store,

3. You shouldn't until a new jailbreak solution has been released.

4. Jailbreakme.com is useful for any iOS Device running iOS 4 and iOS 4.0.1. Spirit by Comex is useful for any iOS Device running iOS3, 3.0.1, 3.1, 3.1.2, 3.1.3.

5. Yes. The first day of jailbreak release got rid of Facetime and SMS, but has been fixed 5 hours later.

I used jailbreakme for my ipod

It adds Cydia which allows you to add backgrounds (themes) to the home screen, apps that aren't allowed in the App Store, all that. All of your apps will still work. You cannot get new firmware - it takes the jb off. For now, yes. But Spirit 4.0/4.0.1 should come out soon. Jailbrakme is good.

More of the same. This is my third iPhone generation and I've jailbroken them all. This one works just as well as the rest, but personally I'm looking to a software based jailbreak some day. These web jailbreaks scare me!
