Latest iPad Pro, MacbookPro and MacBook Air.

All showing the same movie, side-by-side.

Blame my eyes, but MBP seemed more lifelike and natural than the much applauded iPP with the newer screen tech.

MBA not too shabby, surprisingly bright, but the loudspeakers...

MBP still seems like a safe bet.

I've often done the same thing with poor results. The lighting/design/noise of the Apple store makes it hard to compare. I'm on a M3 MBP and have been considering going to the 15" M4 MBA but I fear losing the speaker quality of the MBP. The form factor of the MBA is the biggest appeal. but the reduction in quality speaker sound is a concern for me.

The MBA is a downgrade in many ways, there's a reason for the different positioning of the two products.

Albeit, the new 15" Air has better speakers than the 13".

Any decision already?

I'm also thinking about going from M3 MBP Max 14" to a M4 MBA 13" because of weight... And know, that display and many others things are much better with the Pro Model.
Not that easy.

I looked at the specs again and I can't justify the loss of battery power. I know Apple's battery tests are kinda ridiculous. But from my real-world usage between the 15" Air and the MBP, there is a real/significant difference. I have no interest in downgrading my battery use. Maybe I'll cave and switch later but not now.
