I was fortunate to have had a chance to test drive the 2016 model while my early 2011 was being repaired, and really liked most of what it had to offer, but I didn't like the keyboard so I kept my eyes on used 2015 models.

Ended up finding a 15" mid-2015 2.5GHz i7 with 16gb RAM, Radeon R9 M370X, 512gb SSD and only 24 cycles on the battery for $1600. Just couldn't pass up the discount when a new 2016 would cost me double for negligible benefits.

Contemplating adding AppleCare for $350 since its still eligible.

For those of you on the fence about the 2016, I strongly recommend looking for used 2015's. They're out there.

A lot of people have and still are going the 15 route. This is why inventory is being rapidly depleted.

Add the AppleCare so you have that extra-added peace of mind for another two years, and reselling it will be easier with an existing AC warranty.
