I want to buy an ATI 4870 and flash it with a Mac ROM, but I have a couple of questions about it.

1. I want to get an XFX card with 1GB. Will that be okay?
2. Will I have to install a patch after every Mac OS X update or will it just always work after flashing it?

I've already flashed an XFX 4890 and it worked great, but I had some glitches in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 that I think were driver-based, so I returned the card.

Here's the card I want to get: http://www.amazon.com/XFX-HD487AZWF...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1260034450&sr=8-1

XFX is sometimes working and sometimes not depending on version of this card.

I got this one and works great: http://poisonet.com/images/HIS HD4870.jpg.

No problems with any games.

I didn't see a Mac ROM for the HIS cards.

What about this card? It looks like it's already been flashed, but I'm hesitant to buy it because I don't know what it really looks like. The ad says it might look different than the picture.

Look through my posts and you will see it :)

It's working 100%. I'm working on this card since few months and it's great.

To keep it silent, just remove the stock fan, put Accelero S1 rev. 2 and Noctua 12 mm 800 rpm fan.
