Will they give me a full size sim card in return? Or how does it work? I don't want to have to buy a new SIM card... cause I have a 3GS that I will want to use temporarily.

Also, will my upgrade be reflected on my AT&T account immediately or does it take time?

I can only speak from my experience..i pre-ordered from the apple store and will be returning. I called my local ATT store and I can go in and re-activate my old 3GS, they will give me a new SIM (no charge). Once I ship the 4G and apple receives it, they will contact ATT so the contract extension can be canceled and I can be eligible for an upgrade again.

Sounds like an entire process... ugh. Well I think I'm just gonna go into Apple with both my phones and packaging, and see what they tell me. My intention is to buy the white iPhone down the road in hopes that Apple did something to fix the hardware issue.

I purchased a micro sim to sim adapter. I plan on keeping the the Apple SIM when returning my iphone4

I ordered one too, but it's coming from Austria so that's gonna take forever to get. I want to just get this return process out of the way.

Ok, good thing theres an ATT store close to my Apple store. Hopefully they don't charge me.

If you have it you can just call ATT and give them the IMIE of the old SIM along with some other info and they should be able to activate the old one.

That is exactly what I thought, just wanted to give the OP the option to ask that considering they thought a new one may require a purchase.

This is not the case. As was mentioned above, once a SIM has been deactivated it cannot be reactivated. I tried this when I returned my 4. I had to go into AT&T and ask for a new SIM.

I just got back from returning my iPhone 4. The process was relatively painless. They did run into some issues but that's because I had a special case which I don't feel like going into.

But basically I returned the phone, got all of my money back, and then had to go to AT&T for my new SIM card. They activated my 3GS, and I was good to go. According to Apple and AT&T, my upgrade eligibility should be reflected on my account within 72 hours.

Did they refund your $18 "upgrade fee" as well?

Because the antenna thing IS an issue for me. I live in a place were reception is already pretty bad. I know this is a hardware issue and not software. When I would cover the right side of my iPhone 4 I would go into no bars/no service mode. There is no way that can be software related.

I once was holding my iPhone 4 for a good 3 minutes while browsing the internet over Wifi on my bed. I noticed that I had no reception so I set my phone down. A few seconds after I set it down, 3 text messages came in at once, 2 of which were from 2 minutes prior. Can't be software.... Also, I get too many call fails when I'm just talking regularly and unintentionally cover the left side of the iPhone 4.

These things were not an issue on my 3GS, so I'm hoping Apple will do something to fix this mess....

Plus, I want white. :D

Same situation with me, though I do want black. I'm gonna return and repurchase and hope the next one is better, but if not I'll have to get something else.

Did they restore the phone in the store or do they expect you to do it at home?
