Can I just walk past the iPhone line and use the Apple store app to self checkout a case for my iPhone 5?

So... if I stop by an Apple store on launch day for something other than an iPhone...

Not sure on accessories. I know at my store (bham, al) they were turning away non-iphone buyers and lookie-loos on release day.
I'm curious as well. I'll be getting AppleCare+ for iPhone.. do I need to be in the iPhone line?
In past year's they've had a separate line for iPhones. That said, I'm not sure that there are any cases available for the iPhone 5 yet. For example, Sena, who manufacturers the pouch I use for my 4S, won't have theirs ready until the end of October.
During past launches, the crowd is so large that yes, they turn away everyone not buying an iPhone 5.
Doesn't last long. Maybe by afternoon they'll have a line for non-iPhone, certainly by the next day.
The three Apple stores in my area are very organized. The stores are setup to accomodate all customers.
Actually they did. Guy was pissy about it too. One of those "I have money!" types, but they said he'd have to come back the next day.
They let me do this on iPhone 4 launch day when I wanted to go buy a bumper. I don't anticipate it being a problem
I've been to all previous launches and they dedicate the whole store to the iPhone and iPhone only, no accessories. They take care of the line.
i know my apple in new york, staten island to be exact had a mini line for people not getting iphones
Why would you subject yourself to such madness?
Why not order something off amazon and have it arrive on the day you get your phone?
While showing off your iPhone 5 to friends or family that may not be able to get one is a douchey move, showing off to people waiting in line to get one is just fun(ny).
They'll have one in a few minutes anyway. But mainly, I'll probably run in to get a second lightning to USB cable if they have them in stock.(Honestly, by the time I make it in the line will be long gone)
You can, I actually got my iPhone 4 replaced on the 4S launch day. Didn't even make an appointment.
In order to get Applecare+, you have to make a Genius Bar appt. so I'm sure the concierge will let you in if you're on the list. I made my appt. for Saturday as soon as it popped up just so I know I'll get in haha. Only one Apple Store in this state!
At the Apple store here in Aventura, FL, you lined up for non-iphone pickup needs. Then they would ask you what you needed when you walked up to the doors, and let you in once another customer walked out of the store. I just remembered you were escorted by an Apple sales person whole you were in the store so you wouldn't just gawk and linger around during all the excitement.
