The update also does some wacky things . . like Spotlight showing you that all the e-mail you thought you deleted is still somewhere on the Touch . . . or not finding folders that are named exactly like the search criteria . .

I just got the update in and running. Took no time at all. I like the "shake to shuffle" for iTunes songs. There's a lot to play with and learn. Thanks for the info here tonight. I just wish my 1g had external speakers..............
