rewrote the hd 7 times, reinstalled the os. Now you have to put your information in to finish the process. Is there a way to take that information off the system before I sell it ? thx

No, you don't have to put in the information.
Just shut the Mac down after the installation finished and before you have to enter personal information and creating an account.
Thus the buyer will have the same experience as you when you first started the Mac.

You can do as sim mentioned, or I've noticed that people like to be able to jump right in and play around with the laptop so I just select continue (you can proceed without registering) and create a generic account like Main or User without a password.
