Agreed ... GM seeded on June 7th, or 11th at the latest, and we'll see the official release before the end of June. I would guess that iPhones will be available sometime right after June 7th ... they won't be available for sale right away because they have to ship to stores first.

Except for the first generation iPhone, apple has not released the OS (or the phone) on the day of the announcement. So he's not being a moron. btw no need for such a harsh tone towards his post.

Well technically it was last year, but this year you never know..

What happened last year is they released the GM which of course went to all the developers, the Official then came out a week later for the public.

But like last year, I'm assuming once the GM is released a vast majority of people will upgrade to 4.0 then by finding the download, as it probably won't brick your phone because it is most likely the official build version.

The 4th iPhone MIGHT ship with OS 4.0, but it doesn't necessarily need to be released to the public for download to other phones at that time. It might even ship with a version of 3.1/3.2/3.3 which is just 3.0 customized to "fit" with the new features or hardware differences of the new iPhone. Remember, the 3GS didn't ship with 3.0, as all of it's functionality wasn't available until 3.0 was released (even check Apple's website).

Whichever appears first, when iPhone 4 or OS 4 are released, we can expect the other within days given past trends.

From what I understand, the resolution has increased on the new iPhone, but it's not a larger screen.

I flip-flopped my facts, they were released within 48 hours of each other - my apologies.

That said, if we look at the past trends, we can expect OS 4.0 to be released within days of the 4th iPhone, or vice versa.
