I'm still waiting to see if any tests were done to see if it vibrates louder or the speaker is louder or clearer!

speaker does sound louder to me.. and vibrate does seem more firm. could be the new phone effect but a text woke me up today and texts never wake me up

My speakers are definitely louder I sleep by the wall in bed and my phone is usually suffocated by pillows and I still heard it perfectly loud. The vibrate is magnificent I can feel it in my pocket now . I'm definitely glad I got this phone . The speeds are amazing

Agreed. I can definitely notice the difference in speaker volume as I've had turn down my ringer and app volume from what I was using on previous iPhones.

Additionally, the vibrate is much stronger.

Maybe cause friend 4s has bumper and mine is in full protective case but his vibrator sounded louder!

Not a very scientific test but using Audiotools my sample of the iPhone 5 was about 3db louder.
Vibrator is a little stronger but higher pitched. Does rattle the table

Speakers are much better, home button is a lot sturdier.

Vibrator, although louder and more pronounced, is just annoying to me. This was the old vibrator that they used in the earlier iPhones and tbh I'm not sure why they went back.

My speaker is way louder than my 4s cause I have to keep turning this one down on my 4s it was always at max vol n I still had trouble hearing it!

Comparing my 4S & 5 side by side, both of which are active, I'm happy to report they're identical in these two areas. I don't see a need for them to be different.
