ever since siri stopped working i can no longer use the "speech to text" function on my phone....the purple dots come up as if they are loading but then the dots disappear leaving nothing behind.

does siri & speech to text operate on the same network?

anyone else having trouble using speech to text?

You do know this speech recognition and Siri is not happening in your phone. It is NETWORK dependent!

When there is a problem neither will work.

Kinda dumb IMO. I'm pretty sure the CPU is good enough to do local voice recognition, they should really reserve the network for when it is truly needed.

Mmmm that would take a very long time. Go and get Dragon Dictation on your computer and you'll see how it is. It's much faster and much more battery efficient to have it network dependent.

Even if the speeds were adequate, the battery life would be terrie of you constantly used it.

The bugs will be worked out; we won't be seeing downs like this much longer; I don't think anyway.
