I think so - only .6mm thicker. All other dimensions are the same and the port locations look identical. Have an expensive iPad 2 case, and shame to waste it.

hows that so? the case wont fit because its thicker, if it was THINNER most should work fine but its the opposite here. the ipad 3 is Thicker.

Yes, but only .6 mm thicker. So soft cases that have a little stretch to them will probably work (leather, vinyl, etc.). Form fitting hard cases probably not.

I got a really nice looking all leather case on eBay for $17. From what I've read iPad3...or whatever we're calling it...should fit nicely. We'll see.

Casecrown is already advertising that their iPad 2 cases (very highly rated) will work with the new iPad. Snap-in type cases will most likely no longer work.

I was wondering the same.

We have a Targus Truss case and am hoping it will fit.

I have the Zagg aluminum case with the built-in Logitech keyboard. It "closes" by putting the "face" of the iPad 2 into the keyboard. This type of case should work find for my "new" iPad, but I still went to Zagg's site and got a fancy new carbon fiber case that has a keyboard. I fly a lot, and this is a great airline tray table setup.
