I'm looking to buy one and was wondering if it's in stock at any apple stores in california.

Well, it's not in California, but I called the Shadyside PA store and asked if they did. They do, but all of them are going straight to the priority list, not to walk-ins.

I stopped by a local store last night for a replacement. They said they'd call me when they get new shipments.

Is Walmart still getting them? They had like 2 on opening day. Walmart would not be my choice in camping out.

Try Best Buy. I stopped in at 2pm on Wednesday the 30th and they had 3 phones. I bought one (32GB) and I was out in 10 minutes. Easy as pie.

FYI, the same goes for all stores in LA county. All other retailers are out of stock/sold out/never received shipments.
