Just curious thats all. Has anyone heard when the app will finally make its way to the end user? I've scene the 'proof of concept' ones but thats about it.

I WOULD LOVE this app as im sure many of you will to.

It's in the same section as the Sirius, TomTom, and Netflix streaming apps. Look under "stuff too awesome to be available yet" in the App Store. :D

those kind of programs probably wont ever be released due to the fact that apple (actually more like ATT) doesnt like those apps that suck up too much bandwith like those internet radio apps. so they usually reject those or shut them down

Doesn't explain why Orb Live got the green light though? You can watch TV via that as well as any media you have on your PC via your iPhone 3G connection

If you don't mind my asking, what's slingbox?

http://www.slingmedia.com/

Google could have answered your question in about 5 seconds though ;)

It's allegedly coming after Sling's Blackberry client is released. Considering how long it's taken Sling to get that to market (and it's still NOT on the market), I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for the iPhone client. If you're in a hurry for live TV, look into Orb. It's a little more involved on the server side but it also does a lot more than Slingplayer.

That was the excuse last month. That Orb works over 3G without modification pretty much puts an end to it. The only excuse Sling has left is that they are the slowest company on the planet. They've taken forever to release every other app they've ever done, they'll take forever to release this one, too.

Good post. I think it's right before all those native mms apps that are supposedly coming out. So, in effect, it's been guantanamoed.
