I got a blackberry and I'm not really happy with it. I was told that if there was a smaller iPhone I could swap, or can I swap with the current one?

Erm... by swap, do you mean...

- AT&T gives you an iPhone at no charge for your phone?
- AT&T takes your phone back, gives you a credit for whatever you paid for it
- You can put your SIM in an iPhone and have it work properly on your account
- I put the grrr in Swinger, baby

...?

There I was thinking you had to put keys in the bowl and mix them up. These days it's mobile phones is it? ;)

Something like that, more like just trading phones.

That 4th option could work, too.

You can't trade phones. How much did you pay for the BB? The iPhone is a minimum $400 device. So if you paid at least $400 for the BB, then I guess you could trade them out within 30 days or something.

Agreed... if you're not looking to throw down a fair amount of money, probably the only way it would happen is if you could find a store with a refurb iPhone in stock. The fact that the BB was subsidized doesn't mean anything, in essence. You'll only get what *you* paid for it.

Alternatively, unlock and sell it, and then buy a refurb iPhone....

Alright. Another question though, isnt the BB like $400 itself? Or will the discount pretty much shoot that option down?

That's what I'm saying. It doesn't matter if RIM list price for the BB is $47,652, and AT&T paid RIM $47,553 in subsidy fees on your behalf to get you the phone for $99. If you paid $99 for it, you're only going to get $99 back.

If for some crazy reason, you actually gave AT&T $400 of your money for a Blackberry, in that case, yes, you'd get to trade it back for another $400 phone.... But I'm not sure under what circumstance AT&T would sell you a BB for that much money.

Makes sense. I'll give the BB a try for now first.

I'm still confused about your statement of a "smaller iPhone"
IF it happens.
