That's a CPU with integrated graphics. Like what intel does for them at the moment.

It's not a dedicated GPU and (at least as far as I could read) there was no mention AMD GPU options. so it's very possible that the next imacs could have an AMD cpu instead of intel, and Nvidia graphics cards.

Though it could be AMD for everything, if it means apple gets a good deal on going all in with them.

But yeh as far as your title goes, it's meaningless.

APU = CPU + GPU in the same chip. Based on your post, I didn't catch if you understood that or not.
 
AMD sells CPUs to computer makers (I think HP is a big customer), and so this move makes sense in that situation. I don't see this impacting how apple does things.
