My restore from PC went great and pretty fast. But all my apps still want me to login with user and password since my face ID was "updated" as required by the new phone and Apple Pay needs to be set up again. LOL. First world problems. Sheesh.

I had to log in to nearly everything except social media stuff. Did you have to download all your apps?If you do the phone to phone transfer you dont have to log back in to most apps.
Nope everything came over.I had to log in to nearly everything except social media stuff. Did you have to download all your apps?
Wow... Nope😆Boo hoo. 🤣
I have an old US AppleID which I shared with my wife and kids before Family Sharing was a thing, with a lot of IAP tied to that account. But for the past several years we've been doing it 'correctly,' with Family Sharing (accounts in our country of residence). So now, whenever I get a new device, I have to install apps from multiple accounts (all of which have 2FA so that's fun) and then I have to manually sign out and then into each account, separately, to "restore purchases" on 10-20 apps to unlock the IAP. Then there are apps that aren't available in certain countries, so I have to make sure I'm signed into the correct country account to get stuff. Super fun. But you're right - first-world problems 🤣
Yep. I had this when my 16PM got delivered today. During the setup process the iPhone asked me to login to other account that I had used when I was in the UK to download certain apps from that App Store. Then sent me a text 2FA which I couldn’t get as my iPhone was in transfer process. Fortunately after my second attempt it messaged my MacBook with the code.Boo hoo. 🤣

Well at least you found out AT&T is pretty secure when it comes to these type of transactions 🤓I was super impressed when I transferred to 15 Pro last year and I just put phones next to each other and everything worked… this year was a total nightmare because of e-sim.
I thought I had a pretty simple scenario. I upgraded my wife’s iPhone 13 to 16 Pro on ATT locking her into a 3 year contract.
But the plan was for me to take that new phone and she inherits my 15 Pro from last year. We’re still paying the monthly dues, just swapping sims cause I film iPhone video every day for work and even get a monthly phone stipend to have an up to date phone.
But dear lord I had to jump through so many hoops when in the past I would’ve just physically swapped the SIM cards. They wouldn’t activate my wife’s sim without her confirming a code sent to her phone number… which was the sim I was trying to activate so I couldn’t get the text! And it wouldn’t let me activate via my number also on the account or email. The only way I finally got it to work was to have them send an e-sim as a second phone number to my phone then use Apple’s tool to transfer my second number to her phone. Anything I tried with ATT resulted in telling me to go to the store.
I tried to pair my Apple Watch to the 16 Pro and it refused to be found even though it worked fine on the phone I transferred from. Eventually I gave up and reset the Apple Watch to pair it as new and it said it needs to be updated first and it’s now been 6 hours and the progress bar still says 3 days remaining on updating the watch. Total nightmare. I had my phone right next to the watch on the charger for 2 hours and the progress bar got to maybe 5% but I can’t just leave my phone on my nightstand for 3 days.
Must be nice. I did a direct transfer from iPhone 13 Pro to 16 Pro. All my apps were put in the right place on the screen, but they weren’t loaded. Just the app with the little iCloud icon. Not a huge deal, just a little annoying. And on the bright side, it forced me to think about the last time I used some of these apps and if I really still need them.Nope everything came over.
