While in the Messages app, my phone asked if I wanted to use my "current location". Is this something new? Why in the messages app. Kind of, odd.

I'm not 100% sure but it could be something to do with the iMessenger feature that's offered in iOS 5

Eh, could be true. Idk. It's just popped up randomly. I was just like wtf. I can't be the only one to see it.

Yeah I do. I mean naturally it's on for gps but since I had the option in the messages app, I went ahead and cut it on.

Pherhaps you were taking a photo in the Messages app for MMS and the phone asked you if you wanted photos taken in the Messages app to be geotagged? It could have been a program running in the background which asked you too.

No dude. Like if you go to settings>location services.. There's an option for messages now. Not talking about for the camera.

Yeah iOS 5.0 beta 5

Yeah, it probably has to do with iMessage. It's built into the Messages app. I wouldn't worry, but you can always turn it off if you'd like. It's new in iOS 5.

Damn lol 911 tho lol. But it happened in my messaging app. Nothing to do with facebook. It' singly deals with the messaging app and them keeping track of my location
