reviews are saying that the badge only gets updated when you open the app

i thought this was going to be a good alternative to weathericon

Honestly at this point, apple needs to step up there software and follow some android steps (i.e. homescreen widgets, etc.) this is just plain stupid but a good idea... only if it worked..

why dont apple just add all the good cydia tweaks to the ios

is proven that it works & doesnt cause the battery to drain

what is the problem

If only they updated the Weather app so it works like Calendar...

They probably never will though because of battery. It would have to fetch for updates every few hours at least for it to be accurate.

I really doesn't kill the battery. I have my jailbroken iPhone set to update a live weather icon every 15 minutes and have noticed no discernible battery drain. I've been using that tweak for months.

Don't know then. Apple just being Apple, I suppose

works fine for me without having to reopen the app.

it pushes temp updates hourly, and you have to set it in the settings by tapping on the city desired then tap on "set this location..."

from then on it updates the badge hourly. unfortunately you cannot set it to update more frequently and it doesnt need to run in the background to function.

Fahrenheit works fine for me too and the badge updates without opening the app or running in the background.

An hour update should be fine :)

For everyone whining that Apple isn't giving them what they want has any of you gone to http://www.apple.com/feedback?

Apple isn't going to read Macrumors.

It's good to give them feedback but I'm pretty sure they know people want a live weather icon. It's been asked for all over since day 1. I just JB and use Weathericon. It's rocks. One day last week it was actually 73 and sunny and it freaked me out a little. :)

My badge updates automatically without me opening the app.

Yes looks like is working now

Has anybody removed weathericon for this app?

Since is almost summer i really dont need the weather in the statusbar, everyday will be hot

Use PerPageHtml widget! =)

When it updates, it updates hourly, and seemingly at the worst possible time, so for me it fetches the weather almost a full hour behind what it should be. I had two days so far when it didn't update at all for most of the day. Either of those two problems makes the feature nearly useless in my opinion, as I still always have to open the app to see what the actual current temperature is. And even when I open it, for my location it still lags behind with updates compared to some other apps, blergh :\

I really wish Apple just introduces live icons in iOS5, just expand what they have going on with Calendar.

I'm using the WeatherIcon Cydia app to accomplish this with no discernible battery drain. Though i find myself using the weather displayed the lockscreen much more.

I don't care what anyone says -- this app uses significantly more battery life. Yesterday, with my phone just sitting on my desk, it went from a full charge down to 80% in just a couple hours. After I charged it back to 100%, it seemed to drop 15-20% or so every couple hours.

I deleted the app last night, and today, after sitting on my desk for a couple hours, my phone is at 95%.
