No way of telling with Apple - I too expected at least an update to Penryn. My uneducated guess would be around 15th of Feb? On the other hand; hoping it'll be tomorrow.

But really, no way of telling.

I would say a small bump late Feb/March.

Redesign is a ways off: mid-summer to fall.

The Penryn update will have very little impact on performance, but will improve battery life by 20 to 30 minutes.
