So the "new" iLife is still iLife '11?

I'm a bit confused by the new iLife. Is it just a minor upgrade to iLife 2011? If it were a bit upgrade they'd call it iLife '13, right? I'm still on iLife 09, came with my late 2009 Macbook. Any compelling reason for me to upgrade to 2011? Is 11 faster than 09? iPhoto and iMovie open slowly for me, even with 4 gigs of RAM.
