Is it only happening on certain watches, leading to perhaps faulty coating, or is it happening to everybody and only the OCD few are noticing? I ask because this is the reason I returned my watch, before people even were talking about the coating and was just recommending to return it.

I'd rather know now when my second watch arrives (supposedly within the next 2 weeks) so that I don't need to return it once again.

I would assume that, because there are several videos of people attempting to scratch the sapphire screen with no success, what you experienced is a faulty watch.
 
Did you need a new thread for this? At least in the other thread, there's context for people to know what you're talking about.
