I was channel surfing today, totally randomly, catching bits and pieces of different shows, I started flipping through the channels and landed on A&E. It was an episode of Airline. Immediately as it came on, iGary walked across the screen chuckling.

Needless to say, I laughed momentarily, but then I got down to thinking:

What are the chances that I flip on a random channel and see someone I recognize? I mean, I don't watch a whole lot of TV other than hockey games and I can't imagine that Airline gets re-run all too often...talk about a coincidence.

This is one of those times I wish I had an all powerful computer that could tell me the exact chance of something like this happening...:D

True story.

I was watching a news story about brothels in Vancouver, and as the police were escorting someone out of a building, presumably under arrest, I recognized him! He was charged with keeping minors and selling them.

It was a dozen or so years ago when I attended his wedding.

The same thing happened to me. It just happened that I was at back at my parents (which doesn't happen that often) and we had the TV on (which also doesn't happen very often, as we're usually chatting or doing other stuff when I'm back) and Airline was on as we flicked through the channels, and I said "Oh my god, it's Gary!" and my mum said "Really? Who's Gary?", and then I had to explain how it was a man I knew in America from over the internet, and I think she may have thought that was a bit odd. :D

A few years back, when I lived in the city, a group of police squad cars converged on my next door neighbor's house. They arrested him and drove away. A couple days later I heard his tale of woe, and unbelievably bad luck. He had gone down to the Bay area to see some friends. He was on parole and was not suppose to leave the state. While down there, he went to an Oakland Raider football game. The cameras were panning the audience and his parole officer saw him on TV.

They evidently play it over and over and over and over and over and over.

Some of our Aussie members have seen it, too.

I never even thought it would be on, and I look like a complete dork.

I'd love to see some folks heer in print or on TV. :)

A few years back, Harrod's Department Store (in London) started selling Krispy Kreme donuts. The story was covered on one of the major news networks here in the U.S., and they showed footage of the people lining up to buy donuts. Standing there in line, with a box of donuts under each arm (and one in each hand) was my sister-in-law, who was living in London at the time. My wife just happened to be watching the news at the time and so she called overseas to ask how the donuts were. :D

^^Just turn on the TV. Apparently every one has seen him there. ;)

Scary. Good friend?

I once turned on the TV and saw myself! Funny thing was that I didn't even know I was being filmed.
