I went on a rather decent long jog/walk yesterday. I didn't take my iPhone. I turned off the always on display. Battery health is 92%. I listened to an audiobook and music that were all downloaded to the watch. The watch did get messaging and other notifications while on the run. The cell service in the area was generally poor.

I did not use low power mode because I'm not fully sure of how it works and what it shuts off on older watches.

The watch lasted 3 hrs and 15 mins before dying.

That seem quite low. I thought it would probably last at least 5 hrs from my understanding.

So what did I do wrong?

Been though you were using features like cellular, music and tracking a workout, I also think it should have lasted a bit more before the battery died. Unfortunately, Apple will not do anything until it indicates the battery is less than 80%.
