Hi.

Ok.

5C (not "s")

5C by AT&T - is it unlocked?
By Verizon?
By T-Mobile?
By Sprint?

Do we have the word yet?

Sorry if this was asked before. Looked it up and got confused.

Thanks!

I'm not sure how legitimate the IMEI.info site is, but when I entered my info it came back saying my 5c was unlocked. I have a Verizon 5c, purchased directly through my Verizon store.

appreciate that. maybe more people can comment on other carriers.

thx!

Both the 5c and 5s on Verizon are unlocked. They are required to come unlocked by law due to the 700MHz spectrum deal with the government. This is the case for devices bought under contract and those bought outright.

I put a T-Mobile and AT&T SIM in my wife's Verizon 5c and they both worked without any issues.

This thread has a ton of information: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1637205/

That's great!

So we got Verizon 5C covered.

What about the other carriers?

Thx

any phone bought under contract/subsidized pricing will not be unlocked and will be locked to the specific carrier except for Verizon. Nothing special about the iPhone.

If you want it unlocked, buy it unlocked from Apple. $550.
