So what FW800 external Drives work with SL?

After upgrading to snow leopard my FW800 external drive is no longer detected by my Mini and Macbook pro, even after 10.6.3 upgrade.
If I use the 10.5.8 kext they work but not reliably.

I need a second drive so I am looking to by a dual drive case.

Does OWC Mercury Elite work reliably with SL?

Any one offer a suggestion for an external FW800 enclosure that they know works with SL or am I better off just sticking with 10.5.8?

ummm....

Any FireWire 800 enclosure should be fine. OWC claims to have the best hardware for Mac, and I have never had any complaints using their HD kits with SL or Win7.

By the way, I have 4 of their small form-factor hard drive kits.
 
All external drives work with all computers, provided the connectors are available (USB, FW, etc.) on the drive and the computer. Any external drive can be formatted to work with any OS.

If you read my original post you will see that I had an external FW800 working fine with 10.5.8 which means I have a slight understanding of the concept.

The problem is my external FW800 will not work with 10.6.

I am not the only one.
Just do a google search for "firewire snow leopard problems"


I want to get a dual drive enclosure and do not want to end up with a expensive door stop, or downgrade my Macs to 10.5.8

Had already looked at the OWC and Lacie. They look solid.
