As it turns out... not much. I don't have every 512 module ever made, but the one I do have is seen as 256MB. It's a stick of PC133, non-ECC, from that seller that has the red backgrounds.

Adding the 256MB module brings me up to 512MB, but I wonder if I'll still get memory interleaving.

I guess I was being optimistic in trying to get up to 1GB, but I thought I'd try it myself rather than just take someone's word for it. If anyone else wants to give it a shot I can't stop you, just wish you luck in finding a weird combo that works.​
 
@Amethyst1 Yeah, and it was being sold as low density too. I still don't really know how to tell the difference after a search. I would guess it's like the top module, with two rows of chips, but someone online said that it's high density if there's only chips on one side, and someone else said that that only means it could be high density. I know not to completely trust strangers online, but I have to at some point go with someone's definition.​
