How can I disable the wallpaper?

I want the same black homescreen that I´ve always had.

Same as if you didn't want a wallpaper on the lockscreen before, just make a 320x480 solid black image.

is there anyway to get the home screen to use a different image than the lock screen? im using the same lock screen photo from the first iphone and that photo is gone. i dont like how the top and the bottom of home screen r black?

just open your camera app, place finger over camera lens, take picture and then tell system to use that black picture as your wallpaper.

Look how nice I was:

I don´t want to smudge my camera lens! :)

I´ve also noticed that swiping between the pages isn´t so smooth anymore with wallpaper in the background. That´s also one reason I don´t want a wallpaper.

Thanks!

But unfortunately the swiping of the pages are still "not so smooth" with the black wallpaper.

I think this is because now we HAVE to use a wallpaper and using wallpaper taxes the performance. :(

Just curious - are you on a 3G or 3GS? It might not be the fact that there's wallpaper if you're on a 3G. iOS4 could just be *that* slow.

Thanks!

I can swipe left/right extremely fast over and over again with absolutely not problems, smooth as ever.

I did a restore instead of an update so not sure if that's why.
