About a month ago, I released a simple Solitaire app called Solitaire: Decked Out with my colleagues in App Store. This was our first time developing and launching a game in App Store and none of had experience in marketing. We mistakenly believed we would be able to get instant downloads and decided to wait until we receive some feedbacks from users, not knowing we had the highest chance to be discovered in App Store in the first 7 days after launch. And, of course, nothing happened.
When we built this app, we were confident that there will be people who would want this app: an ad-free, clean and free solitaire app. We heard back from some of our players but we hope to reach out to larger audience to hear more feedbacks.
We work for a mid-sized mobile game developing company but my team doesn't have a big marketing budget to begin with. We've created a press kit, a promotional video and product landing page so far.
Any suggestions?
