I'm about to purchase one but want to know which is the least expensive model I can get that will work. In this economy if its cheap and works its fine with me:D

Whoops- Move this into the Appstore section, my bad.

The Solo for $149. The problem is the sling app only works via wifi. apple/at+t are at it again crippling another app. That really sux.

I still find it more economical just to pay an extra few bucks a month and upgrade your Cable/Satellite plan to DVR and just watch it later......then you can watch it in HD, surround sound and on a larger screen.

umm, they both have totally different purposes ...

Because there is nothing more fun than watching delayed sports, news, etc......

The Slingbox A/V technically should work. It doesn't fall under the umbrella of "supported" hardware now. The app is supposed to work on older models though. Look on Ebay for one. Amazon.com has some used ones starting at $80.

i have the same question as the OP..i dont wanna spend so much money for the newest ones if the old ones work fine..

Thanks for the responses fellas. And I am not letting AT&T cripple this, I will be using it over 3G whether they like it or not thanks to Trick Three G :)

People need to understand that AT&T had to cut it down for a reason, bandwidth. We all know how shoddy 3G is in some areas anyway. I mean, not everyone owns a slingbox, but just imagine if they had to hike up prices because of all the media streaming...

they allow other more band width intensive things... this may be a reason, but its not THE reason.

PLEASE do that, AT&T.

Offer an iPhone data plan with a 1 GB cap for $20 a month and another with a 6 GB cap for $40 a month.

Funny how they allow this to work over 3G for other phone models, though, isn't it?

The *other* phones probably aren't being used as heavily as the iPhone. The iPhone is a huge strain on the network because they're so data-demanding and popular. I think people are more likely to stream video to an iPhone than another smartphone. Don't take any of this as fact... it's just my theory.

Please...the last thing we need is someone to make excuses for at+t/apple. At+t brags about how great their "unlimited" plan is, yet the iphone keeps getting crippled. Besides, as others have stated, sling player works via 3g for winmo and blackberry.

Would it be possible for you to type AT&T with the correct "&" symbol? Thanks.

It's not AT-plus-T... it's AT-and-T

I can verify that the iPhone Slingbox client works with the Slingbox AV. It may not be officially supported, but it has worked for me.

I agree. Think about it, how many iPhone users ALSO have a Slingbox vs the number of iPhone users who ALL could stream YouTube/NBC.com videos and the countless radio apps not to mention Joost too. Sorry but I don't believe it. They cut it for a reason, they can't just say its due to bandwidth.
