Windows 7 supports TRIM and from what I gather, this is more or less a background operation and solves the performance degradation over time issue with SSDs.

From what I gather, OS X does not support this or an equivalent?

How do OS X users solve the degradation over time issue?

I know that the OS X file system does not really require degfragging with a hard drive, but I don't get the feeling that that is enough to solve the SSD issue?

You can see that most latest SSD's include garbage collection. If done right, it should very much help address the issue.

The question I'm wondering about is whether this applies for the BTO SSDs Apple are using on the newest MBPs. I hope we'll get some information on them soon from the first owners.
