So what was with the boxes?

Maybe it was the floor model (for lack of a better term) for the Apple Stores.

Seemed silly to me that they would send out a single box barely big enough to hold a single phone with proper packaging.

People seemed to buy into it though...

That was the reason for my post...I was hoping it maybe was a floor model. Unlikely at this point.
