I have heard differing opinions. I just opened mine up and it is a single pump Delphi that isn't leaking. It does, however overheat when stressed. I'm thinking it's time for a repaste.

I have the single pump Delphi LCS in my Quad G5 and it is running hot even after a repaste with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut. I also opened the seals at the CPU coolers and topped it up with about 10mL of water because I could hear some air in the system while moving it around. This made a small difference, but I imagine the grill is probably clogged up and I think it really needs a full flush and fresh coolant. Once I get everything together I'll tear it down again and document my progress.

The reason I mention this is that I believe the single pump Delphi should be more than capable of cooling the Quad. I don't know much about these Liquid cooling systems, so correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the single-pump unit replaced the dual-pump LCS toward the end of the Quad's production - what would be the reason behind this? Reduced energy consumption, improved cooling capacity or just cost saving?

Well, according to my serial, this unit was produced in week 51 of 2005. After removing the LCS and processors i see no indication of coolant leaks. I do see a big blob of thermal compound. One thing that surprises me is that this machine is pristine, not even dusty even though the case is average at best.
