Hi,
Yesterday my 3g iphone had a bit of a crash, resulting in me not being able to send or receive emails.

I tried 3 normal 'restores' without success. When I performed a 'recovery mode' restore and it seemed to work (fingers crossed).

So my question is what's the difference between a normal restore and a recover mode restore?

Each time I restored as a new iphone and didn't use my back up data.

Tim

Im going to assume by recovery mode you mean DFU mode and that allows you to downgrade firmwares. Its like an absolute hard reset whilst in normal restore mode i dont think you can downgrade firmwares so its just a normal hard reset

People should feel free to correct me on this because i'm just guessing
