So, whats the latest and greatest on Google Sync?

Before the iPhone 4, I had the iPhone 3G. I used Google Sync for push gmail (and only push gmail) when it first got announced, that worked great for a month or two. Then suddenly emails wouldn't come in until hours later, even when I would refresh it...it just wouldn't show up in my inbox. So went back to IMAP, tried Google Sync again a few months later and same thing. So decided to stay with IMAP, and haven't tried Google Sync again since.

So who here, specifically on the iPhone 4, is using push gmail with great success? Other iPhone users??

Also, I have recently started using iCal to keep up with work / events, does Google Sync allow you to wirelessly sync your calendars from your iPhone with "iCal" on your mac? What about contacts on your iPhone with "address book" on your mac? Do I need to install any software on my Mac to make this happen? Paid / Unpaid...I don't mind

I use it for Mail, contact and calendar sync. Works flawlessly.

If you have Snow Leopard, iCal and Address Book will sync calendars and contacts respectively with Google Sync.

yep, I'm on Snow Leopard....I'll give this another shot.

Is there any additional setup on the mac needed? or is just all the setup on the iPhone?

I use Google Sync for Contacts, Calendar, and Mail... On both iPhone 4 and my OSX.

To set them up on OSX iCal, Address Book, and Mail, the link is right on the post above me...

Note that since I am doing all these over the air, when I'm syncing my iPhone 4 with iTunes, I did NOT pick to Sync Contacts/Calendar/E-Mail settings. I let Google Sync be the central server in which both my iPhone and Computer connect to.... over the air

I just can't get it to work..............
When setting up Exchange on my iPhone, when it comes to syncing calendars and contacts...do I choose to keep them or delete them? I've done it twice and both times I have chosen to keep them....

When setting up in iCal on my mac, I keep on getting a server error. No list shows up in "delegation" even though I followed those directions precisely.

Even when I go to Google Calendars on my mac, no events show up.
