I've owned my watch since launch day and man what a purchase. I had the og S0 and coming from that to the S3 w/ LTE is a night and day difference. I recently purchased the Apple Airpods and they work so well with it.
Since I've had the watch occasionally people ask me when i would ever need LTE on the watch.. so how do you guys use the watch only?

I use it 3-4 days a week at the gym. I walk in with just my car keyfob and Airpods in my ears. For years i always had stuff on me while at the gym so going there and not worrying about leaving anything on the ground or anything slipping out of my pockets while working out has been great.

Once they update watchOS and i can play all my music, as well as playlists and radio stations i'll be even more happy.

So far i rate the watch 10/10 as a whole...(battery life, speed, watchOS on S3, and LTE)

Next is the iPhone X! :):apple:

Can’t wait to get mine. Think it’s going to be perfect for going to the gym. The speed on series 3 is look very quick.

I leave my phone at home for dog walks, going on runs, and will be leaving it for things like when I go kayaking or to an amusement park. Anytime I don’t want to be distracted I plan on leaving it at home.

The thought of being on the beach without my phone just seems perfect. There really are many situations where having LTE on my watch comes in handy. I feel like over the next few months we'll start seeing apps updated so we can use them strictly on LTE.

Yeah everything just feels instant. Overall the watch just feels more responsive... perfect upgrade!

My goodness, these threads are getting me really excited! My Nike+ will arrive on Thursday, but I’m departing on a 16-day trip that morning and will have to wait until I get back to set it up.

I too see many ways in which LTE will be useful, especially for my lifestyle. I can’t wait to get this Watch on my wrist! We are in the beginning of a new era...

I bought for my morning walk/run/swim workout, where I really prefer not carrying my phone with me.
My workout is usually 1-3 hours, which the battery will last the whole time without issue. However, if I’m running the work out app combine with the LTE, he battery drains about 20%+ per hour, which can still get me through without problem.
My only issue now is the bad cellular reception with T-Mobile here in Tampa, but that’s not the watch’s fault. If you have good reception in your area, then you will love your Series 3!

I've only used it a few times. I will probably use it more when i get OS4.1 so i can ask Siri to play specific songs. I mainly use the texting on my watch over voice replies.

The feeling of being free from carrying around stuff but also still connected to things you need. I can even check sports scores on my watch. I must say my watch battery has never been below 25% even on days where I use the watch FOR calls and text replies. the watch along with the airpods is the best purchase i've made in a few years!

I have AT&T and havent had any signal issues yet!

I’ve used a grand total of 1.4 MB, mostly on system services. I’m guessing the profit margins on the Wearable data plan are huge compared to the normal phone plans.

I used mine for running and going to the gym 5-6 days a week. It feels liberating not having to carry the iPhone while lifting weights. Although, the first couple of days I felt weird not having my iPhone with me.

I had some issues with the LTE signal but I got all straighten out with help of Apple Support. My watch works flawlessly now and the battery is fantastic.

Me too. And in my gym it turns out it piggybacks on the gym's wifi so I don't need the LTE! I just use it for music and tracking my workouts and lifts. I imagine in another gym (this one is in a basement) with no wifi and LTE the use pattern would be the same though, except on LTE.

I've also used it while grocery shopping (leaving phone locked in car hidden), going to the post office, going for walks with friends when I still need to be connected, and so on. I have a kid and a job that requires me to always be available... but I don't always want to carry my phone. The watch ensures I am connected, but free to enjoy whats around me without focusing on my phone.

I will carry the phone most of the time (to have a camera, etc.) but for moments like the gym when you don't want to be encumbered it's wonderful.

The only time I have used it so far (other than testing) is when I'm out with my dog and get a phone call. I have had no trouble hearing the people calling and they say they can hear me fine so I'd say it works well. Prior to LTE I have only used the watch for responding to texts.

I walk downtown 35 min one way and hit the gym. And walk back. All together takes me 3 hours. None stop music playing from AW3 whole time, stop for post workout shake/meal pay with apple pay. Text, calls and emails. No phone, no wallet.
FREEEDDOOOM!

What was the issue and do you know how they fixed?

Sometimes the watch disconnects from LTE (on the watch the LTE antenna turns gray and it says that I need to add a service plan). I contacted apple care, he did multiple resets and installed a profile on my watch and phone to log the issue. The watch worked flawlessly for over a day, so I thought it was fixed but I discovered the the problem is still there (funny because it failed right after I posted on this threat). I will call them back, if they cannot fix this problem I will return the watch.

2MB of data on my Watch as well, so also never.

Even with Music support added later this year, I can't believe people aren't making a big deal yet about the monthly fee with how little data this will ever use.
