I hate this waiting game, it feels like I'll never get anything, I waited for apple to fix the BAD butterfly keyboard, then I waited for the 14" refresh which hasn't happened yet, then I waited for the arm cpus and now I am back to waiting for the 14" refresh? I want those slimmer bezels, a proper 1080p webcam, miniled also sounds like a better compromise than oled...

I am having flashbacks of waiting for a rounded iphone: The iphone xr had a bad screen and camera, the iphone 11 had a bad screen, the iphone 12 is now lacking a 120 hz screen and comes with 64 gb of storage, lol do you see a pattern? I hate being that picky

The rumours and common sense would suggest there's a full redesign coming later next year with new screen technology and hopefully other things we've seen, but who knows at this stage what's going to happen and when over the 2 year transition period.

all the 12s have great screens and its really not needed to have 120hz on a phone sized screen. The difference is more noticeable on bigger screens like ipads or computers.
But i really eanted the first arm macbook pro to be a new 14 inch redesign..

Well that’s the business which keeps apple and many others alive. Just do baby steps so people buy every 2,3 or 4 years.

Anywhere between next month and never depending on the source of the leaker. Presumably sometime next year seems the most reasonable atm.

It will be a very interesting model. I always liked the 14" Thinkpad form factor, it will be very interesting.

The rumor began with a YouTuber who is frequently wrong about everything and isn’t the expert they act like. They are photogenic and good at marketing that’s all. If a 14” update comes out it will be Apple’s decision based on consumer demand across the computer sector not based on rumors.

There is evidence in code that FaceID is planned for Mac. I would presume it’ll be next year though.
I didn't know that, interesting indeed.

I know who your taking about, he is indeed attractive, so I can understand why people fall for wht he says, but Kuo said a redesign is coming, and he is kinda always right as far as I know.

I'll say it now: it won't be earlier than next fall. And that is if Apple even wants to waste the chance to introduce the redesign alongside 3nm chips in 2022.

It makes more sense for Apple to refresh all of the Mac line with Apple Silicon next year. I'm guessing it'll be the higher end MacBook Pro 13 with 4 ports and MacBook Pro 16 around Q2 - Q3. Then Q4 will be iMac, Mac Pro.

Then Apple can tease the redesign at WWDC in 2022, with mini LED and 3nm chips.

This is out of the playbook of the last transition, by the way. Apple did not introduce a redesign until 2 years later, and all of the transitional Mac hardwares looked pretty much the same as their Intel counterparts.
