Overall, I'm pleased with iOS 6. Aside from the Maps catastrophe I think its a solid update with some decent additions. However, one thing I cannot stand is the new Music App.
Why change it Apple? Before, it was elegant and attractive and it was uniform with the rest of the OS design. It had the same theme and style. It was also easy to see text and the buttons along the bottom were smoothly transitioned and look sleek.
Now, we have a hideous grey colour everywhere. When viewing an Album, the grey gradient around the cover art is absolutely foul. Not only that, it impedes text and makes it hard to read. When actually listening to a track, the design is also less subtle, its angular and seriously... what is up the orange buttons? It looks like some sort of halloween prank.
The buttons along the bottom now also have solid lines separating them, making it look far less streamlined. Honestly, this does not look Apple designed. I'm starting to think that Apple are hiring people from outside to assist them, because this new look is awful.
Opinions?
